This was my first visit to the Folks Festival in Lyons, Colorado, but not my last.  What an awesome experience!   Beautiful scenery of red rocks and blue sky surrounded the stage.  A river to the side provided subtle sound effects in the evening and a way to cool off during the day.   The Colorado sky  provided it's own entertainment including a rainbow, shooting stars and a beautiful moon, and a very quick down pour the first day.
The venue is intimate, the atmosphere relaxed, the crowd  incredibly polite, great food, and FLUSHABLE JOHNS.  My favorite musicians left me with memorable performances and I left with a handful of cd's of newly discovered voices.
I feel blessed to have had good friends (old and new) to have shared this wonderful musical experience. They say a photograph is worth a thousand words and I hope that these photographs will inspire you to plan a trip to next years Folks Festival - August 25-27, 2000.  Enjoy!
